Womnen's soccer picks up road shutout

Yellow Jackets take down Geneva in 3-0 PAC win

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 19) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team recorded its third-straight shutout on Wednesday night and kept itself in strong position for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs.
 
The Yellow Jackets got a pair of goals from sophomore Taylor Augustine and senior keeper Katrina Kelly made four saves to power a 3-0 win at Geneva College. With the win, Waynesburg improved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in PAC competition. Geneva fell to 4-11-1 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.
 
Sophomore Susie Godwin scored the eventual game winner during the 33rd minute of play on an unassisted goal to take a 1-0 lead. Still leading by just a single goal at halftime, Augustine notched a pair of scores in the second half to clinch the victory.
 
Kelly made two saves in both the first and second halves of play to record her ninth shutout of the year. Waynesburg out-shot Geneva by a 14-6 margin and attempted six corner kicks to just one for the Golden Tornadoes.  
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22, when the Jackets travel to Washington & Jefferson for a showdown with the PAC-leading Presidents. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
