Women's volleyball travels to final road match of the year

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 27) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team travelled to Westminster on Wednesday night to compete in its final road match of the season. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant trip for the Yellow Jackets, who fell by the final score of 3-0 to the Titans.
 
Westminster (19-10, 11-6) took the contest by the set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-14 over the Yellow Jackets (8-17, 2-15). Waynesburg was led by sophomore middle hitter Mabel Culp, who racked up a match-high 10 kills, while senior middle hitter Lauren Wagner added nine successful attacks.
 
Sophomore setter Natalie Ranallo was her usual solid self and recorded a match-high 28 assists. Junior Presley Cupp led the Jackets' defensive efforts with a match-high 17 digs, while sophomore Sam Styche tied for the contest-best mark in total blocks with four.
 
Waynesburg wraps up the 2011 season on Saturday, Oct. 29, when the Yellow Jackets host Chatham for senior day.
