Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 5) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team extended its program-record winning streak on Wednesday night by recording its 11th-straight triumph with a 5-0 home Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Thiel.

The Yellow Jackets (11-1, 2-0) picked up their third-straight shutout and out-shot the Tomcats 25-1 on the evening. They also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks and scored the eventual game-winning goal during the 20th minute of action when sophomore Susie Godwin took a feed from senior forward Courtney Ebersole and found the back of the net to make it 1-0 in favor of the home team.

Freshman Becky Hotek took another feed from Ebersole to make it 2-0 before halftime. Just over five minutes into the second half, Ebersole tallied her third helper on the night and set up fellow senior Terrin Crist for the game's third goal. Leading 3-0, freshmen Taylor Bombalski and Ashton Koons added a score each to bring about the final score 5-0.

Senior goal keeper Katrina Kelly notched her sixth shutout of the season without making a save and playing all 90 minutes in net.

The Jackets will go for their 12th-straight win on Saturday, Oct. 8, when they travel to Grove City to face the Wolverines. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
