Women's volleyball drops two at road tri-match

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 8) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matches this past Saturday at Thiel College.
 
The Yellow Jackets (8-10, 2-8) opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Westminster (13-9, 5-5). Set scores from the match were 25-14, 25-14, 25-16. Senior middle hitter Lauren Wagner led the Jacket offense against the Titans with a team-high seven kills. Sophomore Natalie Ranallo recorded a double-double day with 10 assists and 13 digs. Junior Presley Cupp paced the Jacket defensive effort with 17 digs.

Waynesburg's second match of the day resulted a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the host Tomcats (12-8, 7-4) by the set scores of 25-11, 25-14, 27-25. Once again, Wagner powered the offense with a team-best 10 kills, while Ranallo picked up a second double-double on 14 assists and 16 digs.

Waynesburg is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 11, when the Yellow Jackets host another PAC opponent in Saint Vincent. The match will be played as part of the Dig Pink program, which raises money and awareness for breast cancer awareness.
