WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 8) – For the second-straight match, the Waynesburg University women's tennis team suffered a heart-breaking 5-4 loss to a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets (3-9, 3-5) split the day's six singles matches against Geneva (4-6, 4-3) thanks to straight-set victories by sophomore
Markie Gustafson (6-2, 6-0) at second singles, freshman
Alyssa Daniel (6-0, 6-3) at third singles and senior
Jessica Kody (6-4, 6-1) at fifth singles. Unfortunately, the Golden Tornadoes secured two wins in the three doubles matches to ultimately win the day.
The Jackets' lone doubles victory came at the number-three spot courtesy of freshmen
Ellen Limback and Madison Dubrock, who took the match by the score of 8-5.
Waynesburg will look to snap out of its current three-match losing streak on Tuesday, Oct. 11, when the Yellow Jackets end the PAC portion of its schedule at home against Saint Vincent. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
