NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Dec. 8) – The Waynesburg wrestling team made a successful return to dual match competition by picking up a 40-6 road win over Muskingum on Thursday night. The victory snapped a four-match losing streak for the 2-4 Yellow Jackets. The Muskies fell to 0-2 on the year.
The visiting team won the first eight bouts of the night, including three by pin and another by major decision. Junior
Alex Crown started the match with a win by forfeit and he was followed by freshman
Jake Vitolo scoring a 13-2 major decision triumph over Coey Moeglin to put Waynesburg ahead 10-0.
Sophomore
Colton Blumer bumped up to 141 pounds to pick up a 7-1 decision over Brock Yackey. Leading 13-0, the Jackets got their first pin of the night courtesy of freshman
Aaron Mills, moved up to 149 pounds and stuck Kenny Poland in 1:34. Senior
Garett Johnston (157) and sophomore
Sam Lombardo (165) added first-period falls at 2:00 and 1:50, respectively, to make the score 31-0 in favor of the visitors.

Ryan Walters scored a 7-4 decision at 174 and junior
Cody Catalina followed with an 8-2 victory at 184 to run the Jackets' advantage to 37-0. Muskingum notched its only points on the night with a pin at 197, but sophomore heavyweight
Brandon Fedorka ended the matach on a high note with a 3-1 overtime win over David Rice.
The Jackets finally make their home debut on Wednesday, Dec. 14, when they host traditional Division II powerhouse Mercyhurst for a dual at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
