Box Score

WAYNEBURG, Pa. (Sept. 30) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Friday night under cold, rainy skies at John F. Wiley Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets won their 10th-straight game and moved to 1-0 in PAC play with a 6-0 victory over Chatham. The Jackets are now 10-1 overall, while the Cougars fell to 1-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Waynesburg opened the scoring 2:16 into the first half when sophomore Susie Godwin took a feed from classmate Taylor Augustine and buried her fourth goal of the season. The Jackets tacked on two more first-half goals, one by freshman Kirsten Miller and the other by senior Rebecca Snyder, to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Waynesburg doubled its advantage in the second half thanks to scores by Augustine and freshmen Alyssa Ehlert and Natalie Abraham. Freshman Emily Mullady, senior Courtney Ebersole and freshman Becky Hotek picked up assists on the evening to help out the Jacket offensive attack. Senior Katrina Kelly started in net and made two saves to record her fifth shutout of the year.

The Jackets out-shot their opponents by a 24-2 margin and attempted nine corner kicks, while the Cougars were shut out in that statistical department. Waynesburg will look to keep its winning ways going on Thursday, Oct. 5, when they host Thiel for another conference clash. Start time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
