WASHINGTON, Pa. (Jan. 11) – The Waynesburg University wrestling team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition on Wednesday night at Washington & Jefferson. The Yellow Jackets won eight bouts, including three by fall, to earn a 36-6 victory.
Waynesburg (5-7, 1-0) opened up the night with a forfeit to junior 125-pounder
Alex Crown. However, W&J (1-5, 0-2) bounced back with a decision win to make it 6-3 in favor of the Yellow Jackets. Freshman 141-pounder
Aaron Mills got his team back on track with a first-period fall over the Presidents' Charles Baugher.
W&J picked up its final win of the night at 149 pounds before Waynesburg responded by winning the final six weights of the night. Senior 157-pounder
Garett Johnston got the run started with a pin of Nick Sewell in 1:59. Sophomore 165-pounder
Sam Lombardo edged one of W&J's top wrestlers, sophomore David Dibenedetto, in a 4-3 battle.

Cody Catalina scoring a fall in just 1:13 over Matt Barton to run the score to 30-6. Freshman
Patrick Jennings edged Theron Mitchell 7-6 at 197 pounds before sophomore heavyweight
Brandon Fedorka capped the night with a solid 5-0 triumph over senior W&J big man Taylor Potts.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday when they face their toughest dual opponent of the season, and maybe of head coach
Ron Headlee's four-year tenure, when Ithaca comes to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The Bombers are ranked third in the latest NWCA national rankings, and feature five grapplers in the top 10 of their respective weight classes. Match time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
