Men's basketball falls on the road to Bethany

Bison take down Yellow Jackets 73-45

BETHANY, W.Va. (Jan. 7) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team suffered a 73-45 setback at Bethany during a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Saturday night.
 
The Yellow Jackets (3-11, 0-5) fell behind 39-14 at halftime and only saw that deficit grow in the second half. The Bison (13-1, 5-0) stayed atop the PAC standings with the victory and shot 48 percent from the floor on the night, while Waynesburg managed to connect on just 26 percent of its tries from the field. Bethany also held a 41-31 advantage in rebounding and boasted four double-digit scorers, while the Jackets were led by senior guard Larry Alexander, who tallied a team-high nine points, all on three-pointers. Freshman forward Jason Propst added eight points off the bench, half of which he tallied from the free throw line.
 
Waynesburg will try to bounce back from the loss on Wednesday, Jan. 11, when the Jackets travel to Thomas More to face the Saints. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
