Women's soccer pulls out 1-0 win

Coleman scores early goal and Jackets make it hold up in victory at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 10) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team scored an early goal against Saint Vincent on Wednesday afternoon and kept the host Bearcats at bay to score a 1-0 victory in Latrobe.
 
Junior Missy Coleman scored off an Emily Mullady assist in the sixth minute of play to give Waynesburg (7-6, 3-1) the early edge on SVC (8-4, 1-3). From there, freshman goalkeeper Ciara Scott made the lead stand up by making six saves on the afternoon to earn her fifth shutout of the season.
 
The Yellow Jackets picked up the victory despite being out-shot 16-to-11 on the day. Saint Vincent also took five corner kicks, while the visitors attempted just two tries from the corner.
 
Waynesburg will try for its fourth conference win in its last five PAC games on Saturday, Oct. 13, when the Jackets head to New Wilmington, Pa. to face Westminster. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
