Volleyball hits the road to face Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 12) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hit the road on Saturday for its third match in as many days, this time taking on Bethany. At the end of the day, the Yellow Jackets fell 3-0 to the home-team Bison.
 
Bethany (22-5, 11-2) took the contest by the set scores of 25-5, 25-8, 25-22 over the visiting Jackets (5-16, 1-12). Junior Mabel Culp led the Waynesburg offense with a team-high eight kills. Junior Amanda Silay contributed five successful attacks, while setters Natalie Ranallo and Carly Smithyman put up 10 assists each. The Jacket defense was paced by freshman Jessica Dorazio, who posted 10 digs on the morning.
 
Waynesburg will try to snap out of its current eight-match losing streak on Tuesday, Oct. 16, when the Jackets return home to host La Roche for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
