Women's soccer falls on the road

Jackets suffer 2-0 loss at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 24) – Despite out-shooting Bethany by a 25-to-10 margin, the Waynesburg University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the home-standing Bison on Wednesday.
 
The Yellow Jackets (9-7-1, 5-2-1) gave up a goal off a free kick during the 42nd minute of the first half that broke up a 0-0 tie. Bethany (3-11-2, 2-5-1) tacked on a late insurance goal to seal up the win with just 44 seconds left to play.
 
Not only did the visiting team hold a major advantage in total shots, but the Jackets also tried nine corner kicks to Bethany's two attempts. Freshman Ciara Scott played all 90 minutes in net for Waynesburg and made five saves on the day. Bethany's Brittany Sadler stopped all eight shots on goal by the Orange and Black to pick up the shutout.
 
The Yellow Jackets wrap up the 2012 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 27, when they host 19th-ranked Thomas More for senior night. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
