LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team suffered a pair of 3-0 losses during a road tri-match at Saint Vincent College on Saturday. Along with facing the Bearcats of SVC, the Yellow Jackets also fell to Washington & Jefferson.
Waynesburg (5-13, 1-9) began the day by squaring off with the Bearcats (8-11, 3-7). The Yellow Jackets dropped the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match by the set scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20. Waynesburg was led in its early contest by junior

Kourtney Skinner, who tied for the team lead with eight kills each. Senior
Carly Smithyman and junior
Natalie Ranallo contributed to the attack with 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Junior
Amanda Silay led the defensive effort with 11 digs.
The Yellow Jackets suffered defeat in match two after falling 25-19, 25-13, 25-20 to the Presidents (9-9, 3-8). Culp added eight more kills to her day, while Silay matched her classmate with eight successful attacks of her own. Smithyman improved her numbers from match one by posting 15 assists against W&J, and freshmen
Jessica Dorazio and
Meghan Balogh each recorded a team-high 13 digs each in defeat.
Waynesburg will try to snap out of a five-match losing streak on Thursday, Oct. 11, when the Jackets host the defending PAC champions from Geneva at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
