WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Dec. 20) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team scored early and often on Thursday night when it hosted Franciscan University at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The Yellow Jackets featured 12 different scorers, five of which scored at least eight points on the evening, as they recorded a 95-44 win over the Barons.
Waynesburg's (4-7) offensive outburst produced the program's most points since the Yellow Jackets dropped 116 in a win over Mt. Aloysius during the 2010-11 season. The loss dropped Franciscan to 0-10 for the season.
The Jackets raced out to a 48-18 lead at the half, before closing out the victory by out-scoring their opposition 47-26 over the final 20 minutes of action. Waynesburg shot 57.1 percent from the field on the night (64.3 percent in the first half), which is the team's most efficient showing from the floor since shooting 60 percent against Thomas More during the 2010-11 campaign. Waynesburg also put on a show from downtown by connecting on an even 50 percent of its tries (13-of-26) from three-point range. It was the Jackets' best performance from long range since nailing down 53 percent of their treys on two different occasions during the 2010-11 campaign.
Freshman guard
B.J. Durham shined the brightest during Waynesburg's big night by going off for a career and game-best 19 points on six-of-eight shooting, including five-of-six from three-point range. Sophomore guard
Kenny Klase followed a similar pattern during an 18-point night that saw him hit on seven-of-10 shots from the floor and four-of-seven tries from three-point range.

Jacob Fleegle chipped in 10 points on the night, while junior guard
E.J. Coleman and sophomore forward
Thomas Ellis contributed nine and eight points, respectively. Coleman also tied for the game high with seven rebounds, Waynesburg out-rebounded Franciscan 44-to-28 on the night.
The Yellow Jackets dropped 26 assists, including a game-high five from sophomore point guard
Casey Hope and four from senior point guard LaVance Turnage, Jr.
Waynesburg goes into its Christmas break riding a modest two-game winning streak, which it will look to stretch to three victories in a row on Saturday, Dec. 29, when the Jackets travel to Muskingum to face the Muskies. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
