PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 26) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team looked primed to upset Carnegie Mellon University during Wednesday night's match at the Tartans' home gymnasium. Unfortunately, after taking the first set of the night, the Yellow Jackets wound up falling 3-1 to CMU.
Waynesburg (5-9) defeated the host team 25-22 in set one, before the Tartans (9-9) bounced back to take sets two through four by the scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-10. The Jackets were led offensively by junior
Mabel Culp, who boasted a .333 hitting percentage on the evening. Freshman

Amanda Silay all put up solid defensive numbers with 27, 26 and 22 digs, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets return to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Friday with a road trip to Crestview Hills, Ky. to face Thomas More. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
