Women's soccer falls to Baldwin Wallace

Home team drops 2-0 contest in battle of the Yellow Jackets

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 1) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team welcomed Baldwin Wallace University to John F. Wiley Stadium on a warm, clear Tuesday night. The visiting Yellow Jackets scored two first-half goals and held off a spirited effort from the home Yellow Jackets in the second half, as BW scored a 2-0 victory.
 
Baldwin Wallace (9-1) scored in the eighth and 40th minutes, respectively, to take the early lead. Waynesburg (3-5) put together a higher number of quality scoring chances over the final 45 minutes of play, but were unable to find the back of the net. Sophomore goalkeeper Ciara Scott was solid in net and made 11 saves.
 
Waynesburg will look to get back on the winning track on Friday, Oct. 4, when the Jackets open up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play at Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
