WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 9) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team welcomed Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Grove City to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening. The Yellow Jackets suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Wolverines.
 
The Jackets (6-14, 1-7) dropped the contest by the set scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-17. Senior middle hitter Mabel Culp led the Waynesburg offense with a team-high nine kills. Fellow senior Sam Styche added seven successful attacks against GCC (10-8, 4-4). Freshman Morgan Newbauer aided the home team's offense with a squad-best 28 assists, while the Waynesburg defense was paced by sophomore Jessica Dorazio's 24 digs.
 
The Jackets will try to bust out of its current six-match losing streak on Saturday, Oct. 12, when they participate in a PAC tri-match at Thiel College. Along with the host Tomcats, Waynesburg will also tangle with Westminster.
