Volleyball faces off with Carlow University

Yellow Jackets drop 3-1 decision to Celtics

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 10) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team travelled to Pittsburgh on Tuesday evening to square off with NAIA program Carlow University. When all was said and done, the Yellow Jackets dropped a 3-1 match to the Celtics.
 
Waynesburg (5-5) was led by senior middle hitter Mabel Culp, who put down a team-high 15 kills. Fellow senior Amanda Silay added 10 successful attacks, while junior Tori Kramer and senior Sam Styche chipped in seven kills each. Senior Natalie Ranallo's 42 assists played a major role in the Jacket attack.
 
The Orange and Black was paced defensively by sophomore Jess Dorazio, who posted a team-best 20 digs. Silay and sophomore Meghan Balogh dug out 16 and 14 opponent attacks, respectively.
 
After playing five-straight matches away from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse, Waynesburg returns home tomorrow to face Franciscan University. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
