PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 18) - The Waynesburg University volleyball team picked up its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win of 2013 by splitting a tri-match at Chatham University. The Yellow Jackets downed the host Cougars 3-0 in the opening contest of the day, before falling to Westminster College 3-0.

The Yellow Jackets (6-9, 1-3) took Chatham down (0-8, 0-2) by the set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-12 to score their first conference win of 2013. Senior Amanda Silay led the Waynesburg offense with a match-high seven kills, while fellow senior Mabel Culp chipped in five successful attacks. Senior setter Natalie Ranallo helped out the Jacket attack with a match-high 21 assists. Silay also led the Jacket defense with 13 digs.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as well for Waynesburg during match two on the night, as they couldn't get past the Titans (9-2, 2-1), who picked up a 25-10, 25-20, 25-20 triumph. Culp and Silay put down six and five kills, respectively, while Ranallo racked up 19 assists in the loss. Sophomore Jessica Dorazio set the team mark for digs with 12.

The Jackets play their final non-PAC match of the year on Saturday, Sept. 21, when they travel back to Pittsburgh to face La Roche. The Redhawks beat the Orange and Black 3-0 during the two squads' first meeting on Sept. 7. The rematch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
