Things to Watch For
Â
-
Waynesburg University head coach Rick Shepas is looking to earn his 52nd career coaching victory on Saturday as the Yellow Jackets open up Presidents' Athletic Conference play against Saint Vincent. His next victory will tie Hayden Buckley for the second most all-time at Waynesburg. Shepas also ranks third in winning percentage among coaches who have coached a minimum of four seasons.

Highlighting the 59-point performance last week was junior quarterback Carter Hill. The Jacket signal caller set the single-game school record for passing yards in a game with 483 passing yards against the Bobcats. That mark broke a 45-year-old record and helped Hill take home Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week and ECAC Corvias NCAA Division III South West Offensive Player of the Week honors. Hill leads the PAC in touchdown passes (six), ranks second in passing yards (705) and has not thrown an interception yet this season. Hill currently ranks seventh in Division III and second in the PAC in passing yards per game.
Â
-
Waynesburg has won six of the seven meetings against the Bearcats since Saint Vincent brought back its football program in the 2007 season. The lone win for Saint Vincent during that time came in 2011 as the Bearcats edged the Jackets, 24-21, at Wiley Stadium.
Â
-
One thing the unbeaten Jackets are undoubtedly looking for this Saturday is better balance in their offense. Waynesburg is ranked second in passing in the conference (352.5 ypg), but sits in ninth place when it comes to rushing yardage (74.5 ypg). Those marks are a complete 180 from 2012, when the PAC co-champions led the league in rushing (201.9 ypg), but managed just 140.6 yards per game through the air.
Â
-
Both of Saturday's quarterbacks may find the skies above John F. Wiley Stadium a little on the unfriendly side. Saint Vincent and Waynesburg come into the game ranked third and fourth amongst PAC teams, respectively, in pass defense. Ironically, neither team has recorded an interception in 2013.
Â
-
Saint Vincent College, which didn't get a chance to return a punt during its last game in week one, could learn a lesson from the Yellow Jackets, who lead the PAC and rank19th in the country in punt return average (18.0 ypr).

Coming into 2013, big things were expected out of senior safety Bryan Gary and senior defensive end Brandon Fedorka. The duo has not disappointed. Gary leads the PAC and is tied for 14th in the country in tackles per game, with 13.5 stops per contest. Fedorka's 3.0 total sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss are both the top marks in the conference rankings.
