Women's tennis travels to Grove City

Yellow Jackets fall 8-1 to Wolverines

Box Score

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Sept. 19) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team traveled to Grove City to face the Wolverines in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets fell to the traditional PAC powerhouse 8-1.

The Jackets' (4-4, 1-3) lone win came at fourth singles, where sophomore Sarah Reyes looked good in a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Sophomore Rachel Klemash came close to scoring a Jacket win at first singles after taking the contest into a third-and-deciding set. The number-three doubles pairing of junior Madison DuBrock and sophomore Rachel Wilson also came close to adding another point to the final score on the day after coming up just short in a 9-7 defeat.

After playing through a stretch of three matches that featured the 2011 PAC champions from Grove City (3-2, 3-0) and 2012 co-champions Westminster and Saint Vincent, Waynesburg will look to get back on the winning track in Saturday's non-PAC match at Frostburg State. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
