Women's tennis shuts out Chatham

Yellow Jackets beat Cougars 9-0

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 25) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 9-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over visiting Chatham University on Wednesday.
 
The Yellow Jackets (5-4, 2-3) saw five of their own go a combined 2-0 in the team victory over the Cougars (1-6, 1-6). Sophomore Rachel Klemash (first singles/first doubles), junior Alyssa Daniel (second singles/first doubles), senior Markie Gustafson (third singles/second doubles), sophomore Sarah Reyes (fourth singles/second doubles) and junior Madison DuBrock (fifth singles/third doubles) all pulled double duty on the day. Junior Lauren Cowden added a straight-set win at sixth singles to complete the shutout.
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 28, when it travels to Thomas More for a road match with the Saints. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
