WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 28) - The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team hosted Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rivals Bethany and Washington & Jefferson on Saturday in a conference tri-match at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The Yellow Jackets went 0-2 on the day with a 3-1 loss to W&J that was followed by a 3-0 setback against the Bison.

Waynesburg (6-13, 1-6) got its day off on the right foot after pulling out a 25-23 set-one victory over the Presidents (8-4, 1-4). Unfortunately, W&J swept the final three sets of the match by the scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-17. The Jackets ended their day after falling to Bethany (14-4, 6-0) 25-13, 25-15, 25-9.

The host team was led on the day by senior middle hitter
Mabel Culp's team-high 12 kills. Fellow senior
Amanda Silay chipped in 10 successful attacks. Freshman
Morgan Newbauer took advantage of her first two collegiate starts by piling up 43 assists on the day, while another young Waynesburg standout, sophomore
Jessica Dorazio, averaged a team-high 5.71 digs per set.

The Jackets will try to find their winning formula on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when Grove City travels to the Marisa Fieldhouse for a PAC matchup. Start time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
