Things to Watch For
*-Head coach Rick Shepas enters his ninth season at Waynesburg with a record of 49-33 for a career winning percentage  of .598. His 49 wins rank third in program history, while his win percentage ranks third as well. With a victory on Saturday, Shepas will become the fastest head coach in Waynesburg history to reach the 50-win mark. Hayden Buckley (1973-1982) reached 50 wins in his tenth season. Shepas would also become just the third coach in program history to reach the 50-win mark, joining Buckley (52) and Frank Wolf (65).

*- Saturday's game marks just the third time that a Waynesburg football team coached by Shepas will open the season at John F. Wiley Stadium. In those games, the Jackets sport a record of 1-1. The last time Waynesburg opened its season at home was on Sept. 6, 2008 vs. Wooster. The Jackets lost that game 27-6. The last home-opening win came against Muskingum on Sept. 1, 2007 (28-10).

*- During its 10-win season last year, Waynesburg's rush offense finished atop a number of the PAC's offensive categories. The Jackets scored the third-most touchdowns on the ground (19), while finishing first in yards per game (201.9) and total rushing yards (2,221). On the other side of the ball, Waynesburg's rush defense ranked as one of the best in the PAC last year. The Yellow Jackets allowed the second fewest rushing yards (1,240) and the fewest rushing touchdowns (9) in the conference.

*- Senior safety Bryan Gary's 30 tackles over the last three season openers (2010-2012) are the most of any player in the PAC during that span. The three-time All-PAC defensive back has recorded at least 60 tackles in each of the last three seasons. His 202 career tackles and six career interceptions are the most of any player on Waynesburg's roster.
