WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 7) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team enjoyed a successful home tri-match on Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets scored a 6-3 win over Washington & Jefferson before picking up an 8-1 non-Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over Mount Aloysius.
The Jackets (3-1) got off to a quick start against the Presidents (1-2) after winning two of the first three doubles matches during the early contest. After W&J scored a win at first doubles, Senior

Amanda Hooker gave their team the lead in the match after cruising to an 8-1 victory at third doubles.

Lauren Cowden (6-1, 6-2) defeated their opponents at first through fourth singles, respectively.
Match two got off to an even better start for the home team, which not only swept all three doubles contests, but won five-of-six singles flights. Sophomore standout
Rachel Klemash picked up her first two wins on the day. After teaming up with junior teammate
Alyssa Daniel to score a shutout 8-0 win at first doubles, Klemash picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the number-one singles spot.
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 11, when the Jackets open PAC play at Bethany College. Start time is scheduled for 9 p.m.
