Volleyball travels to Grove City

Waynesburg comes up short in 3-1 loss to Wolverines

Box Score GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team traveled to Grove City College on Thursday to face the Wolverines in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown. The Yellow Jackets battled back from a 2-0 deficit to take set three from GCC, before ultimately dropping the match 3-1.
 
Waynesburg (5-17, 1-7) dropped the first two sets 25-8 and 25-16, but came back to win set three 25-23. Unfortunately, that was as close as the Jackets came to defeating the host Wolverines (10-7, 3-3), who sealed the victory by taking set four 25-11.
 
The Orange and Black was led by junior Kourtney Skinner and sophomore Shannon Morgan, who notched a team-high five kills each. Freshman Delaney Deniston helped out with a squad-high 12 assists, while Skinner chipped in a team-best 16 digs.
 
The Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they head to Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to take part in a PAC tri-match hosted by Saint Vincent. Waynesburg will face the host Bearcats, as well as Bethany starting at 11 a.m.
