Jacket volleyball drops two

Waynesburg falls 3-1 against Penn State Behrend, 3-0 against Franciscan

LATROBE, Pa. (Aug. 30) - The Waynesburg University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches during day two of the Bearcat Invitational, which was hosted this weekend by Saint Vincent College.

The Yellow Jackets (1-3) dropped set one of the opener 25-16, but tied the match with a 25-20 victory in set two. Unfortunately, Behrend (4-0) took the final two sets of the contest 25-6, 25-12. Junior outside hitter Kourtney Skinner recorded a team-high seven kills in the loss, while sophomore Rachel Lang added six successful attacks. Sophomore Morgan Newbauer went for a squad-high 23 assists, while junior Jessica Dorazio led the defense with a Jacket-best 16 digs.

No information other than the final score was available for the Franciscan (3-1) match.
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when it travels to Franciscan for a rematch with the Barons. Star time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
