Women's tennis earns third-straight win

Senior running back Jake Forsythe punished the Saint Vincent defense to the tune of 33 carries fro 134 yards and two touchdowns in Waynesburg's 35-24 win over Saint Vincent on Saturday.

NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 13) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team improved its overall season record to 5-1 in 2014 with a 9-0 win over Muskingum on Saturday. It was the Yellow Jackets' third-straight victory.
 
Five different Jackets went 2-0 on the day against the Muskies (0-1). Junior Rachel Klemash and senior Alyssa Daniel won their respective singles matches in straight sets. Junior Emily McDonold rebounded from a 6-0 loss in set one of her number-three singles match to grab set two by the final score of 6-4 and eventually win the flight.
 
Senior Lauren Cowden, junior Rachel Wilson and junior Christy Ritter completed the solo sweep with wins at fourth, fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
 
Klemash teamed up with Daniel to take the number-one doubles match, while McDonold and Cowden did the same at the number-two slot. Wilson joined up with sophomore Heidi Evans to claim victory at third doubles.
 
Waynesburg returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Tuesday, Sept. 16, when it hosts Westminster. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
