Volleyball splits PAC doubleheader

Yellow Jackets down Chatham, but fall to Westminster

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 17) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play with a doubleheader hosted by Chatham University. The Yellow Jackets split the twin-bill by beating the host Cougars 3-0 and falling 3-0 to Westminster.
 
The Jackets (4-11, 1-1) defeated the Cougars (0-11, 0-7) by the set scores of 25-8, 25-19 and 25-22. Junior Kourtney Skinner led the charge to victory with a personal-best and team season-high 17 kills in the sweep. She completed a double-double with a team-best 10 digs. Freshman Delaney Deniston piled up a match-high 27 assists in the victory.
 
Unfortunately, things didn't go as well for the Orange and Black against Westminster (8-5, 2-0), as the match went 25-10, 25-12, 25-23 in favor of the Titans. Skinner and sophomore Shannon Morgan tied for the team lead with five kills each, while Deniston added 17 assists. Junior Jessica Dorazio went for 14 digs, while Skinner posted 15 digs.
 
The Jackets will make their long-awaited home debut on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they host Geneva and Grove City. The tri-match is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
