Volleyball hosts home tri-match

Yellow Jackets welcome Grove City and Geneva to Marisa Fieldhouse

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 20) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team made its long awaited home debut on Saturday, when it hosted Grove City and Geneva in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match. The Yellow Jackets lost both of their matches by 3-0 scores.
 
Waynesburg (4-13, 1-3) opened up its day with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-18 setback against Geneva (10-5, 5-1). Junior Kourtney Skinner led the Jacket offense with a match-high nine kills. Freshman Delaney Deniston helped out with a team-best 16 assists, while junior Jessica Dorazio notched a contest-best 12 digs.
 
The Yellow Jackets ended their day with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-14 setback against Grove City (8-5, 2-1). Sophomore Shannon Morgan paced Waynesburg with a team-high seven kills. Denniston added 15 assists to her day, while Dorazio notched 13 digs.
 
Waynesburg returns to competition on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with a road trip to Mount Aloysius. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
