The Yellow Jackets(9-9, 5-4) erased a 15-point deficit over the final seven minutes of regulation to force overtime. Jason Propst created a double team and forced a turnover in the backcourt. Durham flipped a pass to Klase, who converted a layup to give the Yellow Jackets a 72-71 lead.
After the squads entered overtime tied, 72-72, Thomas More used a 10-2 run to surge ahead, highlighted by three makes from beyond the arc. The home team closed out the victory from that point on.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a game-opening 4-0 lead on back-to-back buckets by Propst and Klase, respectively. After Thomas More tied the contest at four, Durham knocked down a three and converted a layup to give Waynesburg a 9-4 advantage. The five-point lead was the largest for either side in the first half. Following seven lead changes and four ties, the contest was deadlocked 36-36 at halftime.
Thomas More shot 51 percent for the game, including 40 percent (11-of-27) from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets held the advantage in rebounds, 42-38, and forced 16 turnovers, while coughing up the ball just 11 times.
The Yellow Jackets return home on Wednesday, January 28, to host the Westminster Titans. Tipoff from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
