GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 15) – On Thursday afternoon, the Waynesburg University women's volleyball team traveled to Grove City College for a tri-match with the host Wolverines and Penn State Altoona. The Yellow Jackets lost to Grove City, 3-0, and fell to Penn State Altoona, 3-1.
In the opener against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Grove City, the Yellow Jackets lost in straight sets, 25-18, 25-21 and 25-16. Junior right side hitter
Shannon Morgan led Waynesburg with nine kills and freshman setter

Kourtney Skinner each registered double-figure digs, with 21 and 10, respectively. Along the front line, freshman middle hitter
Sarah Trocki was credited with three blocks.
Waynesburg jumped out to an early lead against Penn State Altoona by capturing the first set, before succumbing 22-25, 25-7, 25-22 and 25-21. Ayers again set the offense, posting a team-high 31 assists and surpassing 50 total helpers between the two matches. Skinner posted a double-double in the late match, with 14 digs and 11 kills. Lexy Waldman led all Jackets with 12 winners versus the Lions.
With the setbacks, Waynesburg currently sits at 3-23 overall, with a 3-11 mark in conference play.
The Yellow Jackets will next compete on Wednesday, October 21, in a home match versus Saint Vincent College. Start time from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m.
