Women's tennis takes on Frostburg State

Yellow Jackets drop hard-fought 5-4 match

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 17) – On Saturday afternoon, the Waynesburg University women's tennis team narrowly lost to non-conference opponent Frostburg State, 5-4. Frostburg State captured four of the six singles matches to emerge victorious.
 
Waynesburg (2-11) seniors Emily McDonold and Rachel Wilson picked up wins in singles competition. McDonold posted a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory at the number-two singles position, while Wilson was a 7-6, 6-0 straight-set victor at third singles. 
 
In doubles, senior Rachel Klemash and freshman Aubree Brown posted an 8-4 triumph at the first position. At second doubles, McDonold and Wilson teamed up to score an 8-0 victory.
 
The Jackets will return to action on Tuesday, October 20, with a home match against Saint Vincent.  Action versus the Bearcats will get under way at 3 p.m.
