Things to Watch For:
  • The Yellow Jackets will look to continue their second longest winning streak against a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent on Saturday. A victory for Waynesburg would be the seventh-straight against the Wolverines. The Jackets currently own a nine-game winning streak against Thiel.

  • Saturday's contest will serve as Waynesburg University's 2015 homecoming game. The Yellow Jackets have won their last five homecoming contests.

  • There is a little known connection between Waynesburg head coach Rick Shepas and his Grove City counterpart, Chris Smith. Shepas' last coaching job before coming to Waynesburg was at Ohio high school football powerhouse Massillon Washington. Smith began his coaching career at Perry High School, which is located in his hometown of Massillon, Ohio.

  • Both Waynesburg and Grove City like to take their time when working the ball down the field. The Yellow Jackets average 4.8 yards per play, while the Wolverines average just 4.1 yards per play. Thomas More, which leads the PAC in that category, averages 8.7 yards per play.

  • Grove City is one of two teams in the conference to have just one rushing touchdown on the season. The other is Saint Vincent.

  • The Grove City defensive secondary may want to prepare for a long day on the field as no one has thrown the ball more in 2015 than Waynesburg. Freshman quarterback Jake Dougherty, who has played every snap at the position, has 141 pass attempts through four games. Dougherty also leads the league with 85 completions. The Wolverine pass defense has been solid this season, ranking fourth in the PAC with 188.0 yards given up per game.

  • Saturday will feature the largest discrepancy in turnover margin of any PAC game on the schedule this week. The Jackets currently sport a plus-two margin, while Grove City is at the bottom of the conference rankings with a minus-nine margin.

  • Waynesburg and Grove City sure know how to take advantage of opposing penalties. The two are tied for first in the PAC when it comes to first downs that come by way of penalties (10).

  • Only Saint Vincent has benefitted more in the PAC when it comes to opposing penalty yards. While the Bearcats lead the league with 95.8 opponent penalty yards per game, Waynesburg ranks second (86.2) and Grove City is third (84.7) in the category.
