WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 24) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team celebrated senior day when it welcomed Westminster to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The Yellow Jackets dropped the contest by a 3-1 final to the visiting Titans.
Westminster (10-23, 7-9) got things started by taking set one 25-21. Waynesburg (3-25, 3-13) rebounded with a 25-23 triumph in set two. The visiting team proceeded to seal up the victory with wins in set three (25-16) and set four (25-15).
The Jackets were led by junior
Shannon Morgan, who put down a team-high 12 kills. Senior
Kourtney Skinner also reached double digits with 10 successful attacks. Freshman
Sydni Ayers did her share to help out the offense by registering a match-high 36 assists. Skinner and Ayers both completed double-doubles by going for 18 and 10 digs, respectively.
Waynesburg will wrap up its 2015 schedule with back-to-back road matches. The first of those two contests will take place at Geneva on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
