CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (Oct. 31) – The Waynesburg University football team traveled to Thomas More on Saturday to face off with the 11
th-ranked Saints. After falling behind early, the Yellow Jackets bounced back with a late rally, but couldn't complete the comeback as the host team picked up a 42-13 win.
Thomas More (9-0, 7-0) built a 35-0 lead before the Jacket (3-6, 2-5) offense was finally able to break through with 1:14 remaining in the third quarter. Senior running back
Jerry Lawman ripped off a 22-yard touchdown run to put Waynesburg on the board.
The Saints bounced back with their final score with 9:49 left to play, before the Yellow Jackets closed out the scoring with less than two minutes showing on the game clock. Freshman quarterback

Scott Lewis knocked in the extra point attempt that brought about the final score of 42-13. It was Malta's first collegiate touchdown catch.
Though it came in a losing effort, Lawman racked up a game-high 137 yards and a score on 32 carries. Lawman's efforts yielded the second-most rushing yards given up by the Thomas More defense, which averages just 109 yards rushing allowed per game.

Aaron Palmer recorded a game-high 11 total tackles to pace the Waynesburg defense. Freshman defensive back
John-Glen Davis made a big impact with his first 2.0 collegiate sacks and 4.0 total tackles.
After playing nine-straight games, Waynesburg will finally get a chance to rest during its upcoming bye week. The Jackets wrap up the 2015 schedule on Saturday, Nov. 14, with a road trip to Washington & Jefferson.
