WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 29) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team traveled to the nation's capital on Tuesday to take part in the Catholic University Holiday Inn College Park Classic. The Yellow Jackets took on the host Cardinals and fell 71-42.
Waynesburg (1-8) fell behind 36-15 to Catholic (7-3) at halftime and could not recover in the final 20 minutes of action. Sophomore wing
Jon Knab put together a respectable day on the court for the visiting Jackets. He scored a team-high 14 points on four-of-five shooting from the floor and a perfect four-for-four from the free throw line. Knab added four rebounds, two steals and two assists.
The Jackets will face Ursinus (2-6) in tomorrow's consolation game, which is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m. The Bears dropped a 77-64 final score to Williams on Tuesday.
