Sophomore starting pitcher
Parker Beatty took the hill for the Jackets (2-3) in game one in his first appearance of the young season. The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, native suffered the loss after working 3.1 innings in which he walked five, yielded five hits and surrendered five runs (four earned) to the Eagles.
Junior
Tyler Prevost relieved Beatty and threw 2.1 innings of one-run baseball, to keep the Jackets in the contest. Sophomore
Colton Lippencott finished the sixth inning by recording an out.
Senior outfielder
Eric Crum contributed to the offensive effort with two runs batted in, while sophomore third baseman
Cameron Bernhardt launched his first homerun of the season and scored after walking in his next at-bat.
Waynesburg jumped out to a 4-1 lead heading to the fourth inning, when a bases-clearing, three-run double tied things up for Juniata at 4-4. A Jacket error then brought in the fifth run for the Eagles. An insurance run for Juniata in the fifth inning sealed the victory, despite a determined comeback attempt by the Orange and Black.
Sophomore
David Cross got the start for the Jackets in game two and tossed 4.2 innings over which he gave up seven hits and five runs, three of which were earned. He struck out three and walked just one opposing hitter.
A total of four Waynesburg errors played a damaging role in game two. The Eagles broke open the scoring with the game's first four runs and never trailed for the remainder of the contest.
Crum doubled and scored in game two, but the offense for the Jackets was paced by sophomore
Nathan Mori who had two hits and scored twice. Junior

Tyler Rubasky chipped in an RBI in the loss.
The Orange and Black will try to snap a three-game skid tomorrow when they face Westfield State (Mass.) in a single, nine-inning contest. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
