DEFIANCE, Ohio (March 21) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team played the first overtime game of its eight-year history on Saturday, when it traveled to Defiance College. Unfortunately, it also resulted in the Yellow Jackets' first-ever overtime loss as Defiance battled back from a halftime deficit to force extra time and eventually snag a 12-10 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) victory.

Makayla Vidosh also found the back of the net during the hot start.
Defiance (1-6, 1-1) responded by tallying two of the final three goals in the half to make the score 6-2 at halftime. Vidosh split the pipes for Waynesburg's final goal of the opening period.
Bachman scored twice in a span of 4:09 to open the second half and give the Jackets a game-high six-point advantage (8-2). Unfortunately, Defiance scored seven of the next eight goals to come all the way back and tie the match at 9-9 and eventually send the contest into overtime.
Bachman opened the scoring in period number three to give the lead back to Waynesburg at 10-9. It was the only goal scored by the visiting team in extra time, as Defiance fired off three-straight goals to seal up the victory.
Bachman continued a strong start to her sophomore season by piling up a match-high five goals. She added an assist for a contest-best six points. Bachman also attempted a game-high 12 shots. Vidosh and Sabatini beat the opposing goalkeeper two times each.

JoHanna Phillips was off to a fine start in net, stopping all three shots on goal she faced. She left the game after 12:54 of play and turned things over to sophomore
Kaitlyn Wetzel. Wetzel allowed 12 goals on 20 shots and suffered the loss.
After playing its first three games of the season on the road in Ohio, Waynesburg will play the first of four-straight home contests on Tuesday, March 24. The Jackets host John Carroll University for a 4 p.m. match.
