WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 24) – Powered by a 16-hit effort, the Waynesburg University baseball team earned an 18-10 victory over Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival, Washington & Jefferson College. It was the Yellow Jackets' first triumph versus W&J since May 3, 2009, a streak of 17 consecutive games.
After trailing 2-1 heading into the bottom of the second inning, the Waynesburg (17-13-1, 15-4) offense exploded for six runs in the frame. With runners on first and second, sophomore catcher
Ben Miller doubled down the left field line, scoring sophomore third baseman

Eric Crum, knocked a two-RBI single to left to give Waynesburg a 4-2 lead. The Yellow Jackets added three additional runs on RBIs by sophomore shortstop
Nathan Mori, junior center fielder
Matt Bensinger and sophomore first baseman Jonathan Kletzli.
The Presidents (19-11, 11-8) cut into the Waynesburg lead with a run in the top of the fourth, but Waynesburg scored four times in the bottom half of the inning, highlighted by a home run by Miller. The three-run shot to left was his team-leading fourth of the season and gave Miller a four-RBI day, while extending the Yellow Jacket lead to 10-3. Bernardt also homered for Waynesburg. His two-run blast in the seventh inning was his third of the season.
All nine Waynesburg starters scored at least one run each and eight starters recorded at least one RBI a piece. Six Yellow Jackets registered at least two hits each, led by a four-for-six effort by senior left fielder
Ben Shorthouse.
Sophomore right-hander
Jacob Meyer started on the mound for Waynesburg, pitching into the eighth inning to earn his fourth win of the season (4-0).
