PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 27) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team wrapped up its 2016 season on Thursday night with a road match at La Roche. The Yellow Jackets ended their campaign with a 3-1 loss to the Redhawks.
After dropping the first set 25-16, Waynesburg (1-27) rebounded with 25-18 triumph in set two. Unfortunately, La Roche (8-15) bounced back to win sets three and four by the scores of 25-12 and 25-18.
The Jackets were led by freshman
Jordyn Wyllie, who put down a team-high 13 kills on the night. Sophomore
Sydni Ayers notched her fourth double-double of the year and second in as many matches after going for 25 assists and 11 digs. Speaking of digs, freshman
Alyssa Proper came up with a squad-best 24 of them in defeat.
