Ron Headlee picked up his first win at Waynesburg University when his Yellow Jacket women defeated Bethany on Tuesday.
The Jackets (1-4, 1-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the Bison (0-6, 0-5) in the day's doubles matches. Sophomore

Heidi Evans kicked things off by winning 8-1 at first doubles. Junior
Liz Ensminger and first-year competitor
Wendy Wall followed with an 8-1 triumph of their own at the number-two slot. Two more newcomers,
Annalise Cardish and
Noelle Hughes, scored their first collegiate victories thanks to a hard-fought 8-6 victory at third doubles.
The home team sealed up the win by sweeping the first three singles flights. Brown completed her second 2-0 day of the year with a win at first singles. She rebounded from a loss in set one to take a 1-6, 6-1, 12-10 victory.
Wall provided the match-clinching win at second singles after rolling 6-0, 6-0. Evans notched the Jackets' final victory at third singles by besting her opponent 6-0, 6-2.
Waynesburg returns to the court on Thursday, Sept. 22, with a road trip to PAC rival Saint Vincent. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
