Series Breakdown
All-Time Series: Waynesburg 31-17-5
First Meeting: 1903 (Waynesburg won 17-5)
Last Meeting: 2015 (Waynesburg won 35-31)

  • Waynesburg will look to extend its six-game winning streak against Grove City. Following back-to-back shutout victories in 2013 and 2014, the Jackets' most recent triumph came by way of a 35-31 thriller in 2015.

  • Both teams will be looking to kick start their respective offenses on Saturday. Waynesburg's 13.2 points per game average is 11th in the PAC, while GCC is just ahead of the Orange and Black with a 10th-place average of 17.8 ppg. The two schools also rank 10th and 11th, respectively when it comes to total offense.

  • The Wolverines will also be looking to get their defense on track. The unit is averaging a conference-worst 52.0 points given up per game.

  • It's not all negative for Saturday's participants, as Waynesburg's pass defense currently ranks second in the PAC with a 163.0 yards per game average. Grove City's pass defense ranks 11th in the league (395.2 ypg).

  • Both the Yellow Jackets and Wolverines rank among the league leaders in the PAC in kickoff return average. Waynesburg's 24.4 yards per return average currently ranks third, while Grove City holds down the fourth spot (20.7 ypr).

  • Grove City will honor its 1966 football team, which posted an 8-0-1 record, one of the best in school history. Ironically, Waynesburg will honor its 1966 NAIA national championship team next week at its homecoming game on Oct. 8.
