GROVE CITY, Pa. (Sept. 7) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition on Wednesday with a road match at Grove City. The Yellow Jackets fell 3-0 to the Wolverines.
GCC (2-3, 1-0) took the contest by the set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-14. Waynesburg (0-5, 0-1) was led by sophomore
Jordyn Wyllie, who paced the Jacket attack with a team-high 11 kills. Sophomore
Sydni Ayers did all she could to lead her team to victory by racking up a match-high 25 assists.
Ayers also paced the Waynesburg defense with a squad-best seven digs. Junior
Delaney Denniston and senior
Emily Nowakowski also recorded seven digs.
The Jackets return to competition on Friday, Sept. 9, when they head to Frostburg State. Start time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
