Waynesburg comes back to pick up 2-1 victory

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 25) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team hosted Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva for its final home game of the season. The Yellow Jackets came back from an early deficit to defeat the Golden Tornadoes 2-1.

Geneva (5-11, 2-6) opened the scoring in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead, which it maintained until halftime. Waynesburg (7-8-1, 3-5) finally broke through the Golden Tornado defense to tie the game during the 51st minute. Sophomore Emma Gozzard notched the equalizer off an assist from freshman Jill Moyer.

Freshman Emily Hill found the back of the net 13 minutes later to provide the game-winning goal. It was Hill's second goal in as many games, and her third in her last four contests. Senior Melanie Byler posted the assist on the score.

Senior Heather Fraser picked up the win in goal after starting and making three saves over 90 minutes of action.
