WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (March 2) – The Waynesburg University baseball team continued its run at the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets played a seven-inning doubleheader with Finlandia and rolled to a sweep of the Lions.
The Jackets (4-4) won their third and fourth-straight games of the season by the lopsided scores of 22-1 and 12-1. Waynesburg hit .429 on the day with 30 base hits, 10 of which were extra-base hits, including eight doubles. The Jackets also drew 12 walks, while not issuing a free pass.
Sophomore

Josh Hausler and senior
Jonathon Kletzli each logged four hits on the day. Three of Kletzli's hits were doubles. The trio combined for 10 RBI and 10 runs scored during the sweep. Senior
Nate Mori went three-for-six with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored.
Freshman
Alex Hundiak connected on his first collegiate homerun, a three-run shot, during the opener.
Senior
Luke Carter tossed a complete game in the opener for his first win of the year. He scattered seven hits and didn't walk a batter, while picking up four strikeouts.
Senior
Jacob Meyer also notched his first victory of the season after yielding just one unearned run on four hits and no walks over five innings of work. Meyer punched out five Lion hitters. Freshman
Brandon Floyd and senior
Ben Miller combined to give up four hits over two innings of relief.
Waynesburg wraps up its stay in Florida tomorrow with a nine-inning game against Cabrini. First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m.
