BETHANY, W.Va. (Sept. 6) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition on Wednesday with a road trip to Bethany to face the defending conference champions. The Yellow Jackets came up on the short end of a 3-0 final score.
Waynesburg (1-4, 0-1) fell to the Bison (2-3, 1-0) by the set scores of 25-23, 25-10, 25-17.
The Jacket offense was led by junior
Jordyn Wyllie, who recorded seven kills in 20 total attempts for a respectable .250 hitting percentage. Freshman
Olivia Zuchelli helped out with 11 assists. The Waynesburg defensive effort was paced by sophomore
Alyssa Proper, who came up with a match-high nine digs.
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, when it travels to Washington, Pennsylvania, for a PAC tri-match. The Yellow Jackets face the host team from Washington & Jefferson and Grove City starting at 1 p.m.
