ERIE, Pa. (Nov. 16) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team traveled north to Penn State Behrend to take part in its Tip-0ff Tournament. The Yellow Jackets drew Mount Union for its first of two games this weekend and dropped a 76-40 final score to the Purple Raiders.
Waynesburg (0-3) never led in the contest and trailed 13-7 after the first quarter. That deficit grew to 35-20 at halftime before Mount Union (1-0) closed out the win in its first game of the season.
The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman guard
Haley Porter,(Belmont, Ohio / Union Local) who tallied a team-high 13 points on four-of-seven shooting from the floor. Sophomore
Andrea Orlosky (Shelocta, Pa. / West Shamokin) chipped in 10 points and a squad-best seven rebounds.
Waynesburg is back in action tomorrow when it faces Fredonia in the consolation game of the event. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
