WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 20) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hosted Pitt Greensburg on Thursday night for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Bobcats. The Yellow Jackets put on a show in front of the home crowd as they defeated the Bobcats 3-1.

Waynesburg (2-11) took set one and set two by identical 25-12 scores. Pitt Greensburg (0-13) bounced back to take set three 25-20, but the Jackets didn't allow the Bobcats to gain any more momentum as the Orange and Black rolled to a 25-9 triumph in set four.

Waynesburg also boasted two of the top defensive efforts of the evening. Sophomore Hannah Colvin led all players with three blocks to go along with nine kills, while senior Cassidy Guiser paced all participants with 17 digs.

The Jackets recorded a .229 hitting percentage on the night, including a .381 percentage in the first set and a .333 mark in the fourth-and-final set.

Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday when its makes one of its longest road trips in recent program history. The Yellow Jackets will participate in a tri-match at Earlham in Richmond, Indiana, against the host Quakers and Central State. The day is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
