WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team hosted Muskingum on Saturday for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest. The Yellow Jackets took advantage of five forfeits to pick up an 8-1 win.
Freshman
Kyleigh Schmidt and sophomore
Lauren Wadsworth won the only contested doubles match, which came at the number-one spot, by an 8-4 final score. The Jackets also took two of the three singles contests. Junior
Sierra Stevens won in straight sets at second singles and junior
Noelle Hughes did the same at the number-three spot.
The Jackets received forfeits at spots four-through-six in singles play.
Waynesburg returns to the courts on Tuesday, Sept. 25, when it hosts Thiel for a PAC match. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
